MATERIAL SPECIALIST, TEXTILES
We are now seeking an experienced Material Specialist to join our Services & Product Concepts team for a permanent position at our head office in Helsinki. Join our team and help us make a difference!
Your key contribution areas
As our new Material Specialist, you will be working closely with our Material Manager and will be supporting Lindström’s material development and management of our fabrics and accessories, as well as taking responsibility for quality testing. In this role, you will be responsible for Lindström’s material data and will support stakeholders in all material related data reporting. Your key responsibilities include:
Organizing material development related tests such as laboratory tests and in-house washing tests as well as colour testing for textiles and accessories, particularly in relation to workwear textiles
Analysing test results and reporting findings to stakeholders
Managing material related reclamations and ensuring customers receive the solution they need
Creating and maintaining technical material data and ensuring data is up-to-date, accessible, and correct
Managing and keeping up-to-date material related requirements and test reports
Supporting in the creation and updating of material related instructions
What helps you to shine in this role?
We are looking for a new team member who has strong expertise in textiles and materials and experience in material testing. In this role, you will be working with several internal and external stakeholders, so strong people and communication skills are also essential, as well as the ability to keep track of projects and tasks. A delivery- and result-oriented approach to work will help you along the way.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field, and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Strong understanding and experience in working with textiles and materials
Good understanding of the quality aspects of different materials, and experience in material testing
Good Excel and analytical skills, with strong communication and collaboration skills
Excellent written and spoken English language skills
Experience in textile rental and related services is seen as an advantage
Your key people
You will be working closely with internal colleagues such our Material Manager, Designers, Product Managers, Product Specialists, and various business support teams. You will also have external stakeholders, particularly Lindström’s customers. You will be joining a global team of experts from various fields in product management with different backgrounds and skillsets. In this team a positive can-do attitude, heaps of enthusiasm and motivation are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking forward to welcoming a new team member.
