Fashion artist Mai Niemi’s sustainable fashion has been created as a challenger and alternative to fast fashion. It is wearable art that is our own national story and roots. Niemi’s collections are made by hand from natural materials. Clothes made in Finland are also knitted directly to their shape, so no textile waste or emissions caused by transportation is created.

“My mission is to design energetically clean clothes that make you feel at home and in which you feel good. My collections are designed for one size, and they free the customer from size restrictions, emphasizing the best aspects of femininity,” adds Niemi.

Clothing items and accessories from the collections can be creatively combined with each other and with clothes already found at home. They work both as a personal touch in everyday life and as a spectacular ensemble in festive situations. Niemi’s fashion philosophy has been established as the term Taikavaatekaappi (Magic Wardrobe), which Niemi has lectured on in the United States, among others. The magic wardrobe contains sweaters, jewelry and accessories of one size, which can be modified to suit every season and every occasion.
