Euroopan komissiossa kaivataan tekstiilialan toimijoiden sitoumuksia tekstiilien siirtymäpolkuun

Euroopan komissio hakee yritysten ja muiden organisaatioiden sitoumuksia ns. tekstiilien siirtymäpolkuun. Sitoumuksiksi sopivat jo tehdyt sekä suunnitteilla olevat toimet vihreän ja/tai digitaalisen siirtymän aikaansaamiseksi.

Euroopan komissio julkaisi tekstiiliekosysteemin siirtymäpolun 6. kesäkuuta 2023. Siirtymäpolku kuvaa, mitä digitalisaatio ja vihreä siirtymä sekä eurooppalaisen teollisuuden tarvitsema kilpailukyvyn ja häiriönsietokyvyn kasvattaminen merkitsevät tekstiiliekosysteemille. Siirtymäpolku myös listaa, mitä EU:n, jäsenvaltioiden ja toimialan sitoumuksia ja toimia siirtymän tukemiseksi tarvitaan. Komissio hakee nyt toimialan sitoumuksia.

Sitoumusten saamiseksi komissio on julkaissut sähköisen kyselyn, jonka kautta sitoumuksia voi toimittaa. Sitoumuksiksi sopivat jo tehdyt sekä suunnitteilla olevat toimet vihreän ja/tai digitaalisen siirtymän aikaansaamiseksi. Siirtymäpolun sisällöistä voit lukea liiton uutisesta.

Sitoumukset voit toimittaa tällä lomakkeellaLomakkeella voit valita, mihin siirtymäpolun osakokonaisuuksiin organisaationne sitoutuu tai on jo sitoutunut. Tämä kanava on samalla erinomainen tapa toimittaa alan uudistuksista tietoa komissioon. Suomessa toimialalla on menossa useita erinomaisia toteutuksia, hankkeita ja uusia aloitteita. Kannustammekin niin valmistavia ja palveluyrityksiä kuin startupeja ja oppilaitoksia täyttämään tämän kyselyn.

Esimerkkejä sitoumuksista:

Action 1. Promote, support and implement circular and sustainability practices, services and business models, including social economy enterprises (such as product-as-service models, take-back services, second-hand and repair services, innovative sorting and recycling) including through Horizon Europe, LIFE, and the ‘ReSet the Trend #ReFashionNow’ campaign and actions from the Social Economy Action Plan.

Example:

Concrete action: Company X designs/manufactures products designed for longevity and durability, using recycled materials, provides for warranties and repair services for a long use, has garment collecting programme where customers can drop off unwanted clothes, or a product as a service practice etc.

Target and date: Number of products/practices (how many eg 8 of 10) to be sustainable (explain how) by when (eg 2025).

Example:

Concrete action: Company X carries out research and knowledge sharing on textile circular business models/lobbying activities/creating a network of best practices and learning exchanges/sharing social enterprises’ business models.

Target and date: Number of activities and on which subjects/practices and by when (eg 2025).

Action 14. Follow-up on actions in the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, including specific ecodesign requirements, the Digital Product Passport, circular and sustainable management of textile waste and possible extended producer responsibility rules, and encourage industry participation in the relevant consultations.

Example:

Concrete action: Company X is actively involved in follow-up actions related to the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles and participates in the relevant consultations in the context of eg the foreseen ecodesign requirements/the proposed Digital Product Passport/revision of the Textile Labelling Regulation/textile waste and extended producer responsibility rules/ fight against greenwashing practices etc

Target and date: Type of involvement and number of replies to consultations.

Action 21. Support up-and reskilling, access to lifelong learning and training opportunities through for example, the EU Pact for Skills for the Textiles ecosystem, to ensure workers are skilled for the twin transition.

Example:

Concrete actions: Company X provides training programs, courses, workshops or other activities responding to training needs (digital and green skills) in its company and/or association.

Target and date: Indicate how many trainings, courses, workshops or other activities to be implemented by for example 2025.

Action 23. Foster innovation and research on sustainable manufacturing processes and innovative technologies with low-carbon footprint for the development of new safe and sustainable by design chemicals and materials to make products circular, as well as support development of new digital technologies under the work programmes of Horizon Europe, Digital Europe and LIFE.

Example:

Concrete action: Company X carries out research, innovation and development of circular textile products/manufacturing of fossil-free products/methods and techniques enabling textile waste to be reused etc.

Target and date: Indicate what type of research/innovation, expected results and by when.

Action 33. Promote creation of innovative sorting and recycling hubs specialised in textile waste management across Europe for example with Hubs4Circularity support, funded by Horizon Europe, the national recovery and resilience plans, national or regional investments and programmes for infrastructure

development.

Example:

Concrete action: Company X invests in fibre detection technologies/sorting to enable automatic sorting/creating business opportunities for closed-loop sorting, and recycling of household textile waste.

Target and date: Indicate what type of investment/innovation, expected results and by when.

Action 37. Set up Pact for Skills Multi-Stakeholder Local Partnerships under the EU Pact for Skills for the Textiles Ecosystem in relevant Member States/Regions, with dedicated support from the Single Market Programme (action grant of EUR 1.2 million from the SME Pillar – Work Programme 2023).

Example:

Concrete action: Company X is a signatory of the Pact for Skills to support promotion of green and digital skills and lifelong learning opportunities to form local skills partnerships.

Target and date: Indicate number and type of skilling activities, and by when.

Action 44. Explore support possibilities for R&I on textiles under Horizon Europe, including for a possible partnership. Build participation and cooperation with relevant European Partnerships and initiatives under Horizon Europe and other EU funding programmes

Example:

Concrete action: Company X to commit to participate and co-design research and innovation priorities.

Target and date: Indicate how, what and by when.
